This tour will take you on a scenic ride from Queenstown to Wānaka, then up the West Coast to Franz Josef. Spend time here exploring the bush walks and local experiences, including the hot spa pools.

Enjoy a helicopter ride up the glaciers or even to Mt Cook — one of the most spectacular sights you will ever experience.

Further up the coast, about 2 hours north, is Hokitika. Along the way, we can stop for refreshments and photos along the rugged coastline.

Greymouth is about 40 minutes further north, where we can stop again and take in the sights.

Another 45 minutes north is the famous Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki. These amazing rock formations will take your breath away. With a little luck, the conditions will be just right to see the blowhole in action.

On the way back, we will pass through Greymouth again, turning inland and heading east through the beautiful beech rain forest. We will make our way back to Christchurch via Hokitika and Arthurs Pass, stopping at the Otira Viaduct Lookout for photos and — hopefully — a chance to see the world’s only alpine parrot, the Kea.

We’ll make a stop at Arthurs Pass for a quick break and refreshments, followed by a scenic drive along the Waimakariri River and through the alpine plateau.

We’ll also stop at Castle Hill to explore the impressive limestone boulders and take photos.

If time permits, we can stop by one or two of the alpine lakes to soak in the stunning scenery.

Then we’ll travel down the Porters Pass Gorge and through the Canterbury Plains back to Christchurch.

There is a lot to see on this trip, and the length of the tour really depends on which sights and activities you choose to include, as well as how long you wish to spend in these magnificent places.
